Overall rating:
The base is excellent to great. Fast, extremely leichtgänig, worth every penny. High Level. Since rattles nothing, whisper-quiet.
However, with a few defects (particularly the poor brake) that would not be for me.
(-) Therefore, "only" Note 2.
Probably one of the fastest pedal karts ever rolled out, light as a feather (especially downhill extremely quickly).
This thing is so fast that with me for the first time in a pedal vehicle at all the strong desire for TRUE brakes arises.
Wheels and frame:
Excellent construction, steering ball bearings, swing axle front revolves around the steering shaft, the steering remains directionally stable. Wheels complete with ball bearings and extremely smooth running, steering sufficiently stable and very easy to maintain. Very good seat with stable metal holder with splint-quick release.
Powder coating highly resistant and surprisingly scratch resistant.
Workmanship in detail:
- Steering einstellbedürftig (to firm and strong rubbelig), when dismantling the column, the heavy contamination of both bicycle ball bearings fell up and down on through fine metal shavings. In addition, the bearings were wrong or not set in parallel. In addition, it was noted that the designs of the steering (outside screw engages hole in the steering column) were different. Therefore, the edges of the hole in the steering column had to be first placed symmetrically / edited.
Re-assembly then after cleaning, Neuabfetten and setting the bearing shells (wood block and hammer). Everything is clean and free of play.
- Front suspension: suspension axles of the front wheels (long screws with a special head) do not fit exactly, so can the self-locking nut down not far enough wind (safety defect?). Cause: thickening too long at the head of the screw. Remedy: shorten thickening machining, Result: full function, fit and nearly backlash mounted and adjustable.
- Right rear wheel is mounted on the axis, which is welded into the frame. Good solution, but material too soft: Axis was bent out of the package (only later noticed). You could be directed precisely, but with rather small forces. Bends hopefully not again.
- Pre-assembled screws control need. Especially here dropped the 15mm nut on the right side of the chain freewheeling, which was almost completely loose.
- All settings at the factory must verify one (correct), in particular the steering (see above)
Defects from my personal point of view (not to overstate):
- Brake too weak (resignation, acts only on left rear and requires vigorous Zutreten), the vehicle is just too fast for that.
- Withdrawal angle (before the brake engages) quite large (>> 90 °)
- Braking action only works forward, saying one confronts when the vehicle rolling backwards (almost always at very slight inclines), then the pedals turn surprisingly forcibly, without the child expects (total weight + children weighing children legs untenable I was fortunately behind). Tears, immediate descent and displeasure were the result.
- For the very high tempo but too short a steering ratio, steering wheel angle at full scale is too small, so callous about the middle to right. Risk of accidents (was close, but I was doing). Have the rectified by I moved farther down the track rod linkage to the steering column to the inside (metal-mechanical expense). Now the steering wheel angle is clearly greater and the center feeling is present.
- Turning circle could be less (cosmetic desire)
Wishes to the manufacturer:
I hope (like for more money) better brakes, a longer steering translation and a better solution for reversing.
**** Alternatively maybe a powerful braking system for retrofitting. That would be something, because it is definitely worth! ****
Comments:
Condition after unpacking and assembling owing to such processing problems useful.
Only after considerable "tinkering" (see above), except for the braking and the rolling backwards fully operational, but then just cool. Envy factor included.
Useful brakes I'm going to upgrade yourself with the device is worth the all.
Price / Performance: is fully in order!
