At once should be said that I am a hardcore RPG fan. This means that I have played more than 50 good RPGs and me to be able see this game well and optimally objective review.
The individual sections first:
Story: Very well done. Many choices in the dialogues, which may affect the action fundamentally. In addition, the dialogues are excellent spoken and consistent. It also noted that each figure in its own way is different. Here no pabulum is on offer, but consistently 1A dialogues in which you realize that here the story is to stand in the foreground. About the story itself, I do not want to reveal too much because of the spoiler-risk. Only one thing I'll ever anticipated. We toured consistently interesting places, but they are all not zusammengeklöppelt to "standard terms", but certainly have their charm. So the dwarf city Orzammar the elves is below a volcano, as nomads in the forest, etc. Only the width of the terrain that you can travel, I find, quite concentrated and there is often the feeling to walk through tubes. In addition, you do not have the possibility as in the Elder Scrolls series, easy to explore by foot the landscape, since it only via mini-map clicking the different cities and you then, running on a 2D map there.
Therefore 7/10
Characters: One of the strengths of the game. While you collect only 7-9 companions, but this influence is quite another and therefore do not act lifeless 'clapping' into play. In addition, the companion also be influenced by the player's actions, which is at first glance, of course, as in any x-any good RPG also the case. But here makes the game a huge mistake: It's hard to annoy a companion so much so that it leaves the party. This is ensured by dirt-cheap gifts that can be found in the world or can buy from a dealer. A quick example: If a dealer can buy 50 cakes, each of which increases the affection of a companion to 5. One can therefore by "cake spamming" thus achieve high values that the affection is permanently set to maximum. I find this ridiculous, as you so egtl in the dialogues. NIE can verreden ... That's my biggest gripe because as an essential part of the story extremely suffers.
Therefore 7/10
Graphics: so-so, who is a graphic à la FF XIII is expected here certainly misplaced. However, the graphics are quite solid. On HD monitors can even be quite, leave for the age of the game, see. And even on old CRT monitors lost the game a bit of atmosphere. But who is only on graphics bombs as Crisis 2 can stay away from the game.
Therefore 6/10
Control: One, I think, only disaster. Here I would like to see on the PC as a space bar to pause the game and plan my next train at rest. The same can be done about as well on the PS3, but since you just did not see the overview. Nevertheless, it is well dissolved for console conditions: A round menu works under pressure from the L2 button on and you can then switches through the skills and Chars. Nevertheless, PC players will get spoiled once bad problems. Above all, the game stutters !! Anyone who says otherwise must be happy even come with me and watch the jerking orgy. For larger battles when the console load quite a bit of area, spells and enemies must, it can sometimes lead to 10 seconds stuttering. That coupled with the quite lousy control also in the end is then frustration factor # 1. I really never die, because the opponent is too strong, but because the control and stuttering are too hard. Therefore, whoever has the opportunity to buy this game is also a good PC that should do!
Therefore 4/10 on the console and on the PC 8/10
Opponents: The play breaks here in the innovation no trees, but does not need to hide. Nevertheless, as the game comes barely diversity, whereas the story again and again brings in well-crafted between opponents who offer a challenging fight.
Therefore 8/10
Sound: Very good, just on 5.1 systems drönt a really good orchestra sound from the speakers that fits coherently into the game world. Hardly frills or experiments. Here you have stuck to the genre-standard and did a really good soundtrack. Only FF and NIER are in my opinion better.
Therefore 9/10
Overall impression: Absolutely part playing with some rough edges that make the story but definitely up for it. The add-ons fit really well in the story a. They are individually playable but also to activate the main quest of what is really done very very well. The atmosphere is dark and medieval depends how the age indication shows to adults. The characters are well embedded and deliver their dialogues always some Schmunzler. On the Item diversity one would still have to screw as a collector's instinct really hardly arises. I had even after the half of the game already, the best armor of the game, which made another Itemsuchen pointless.
Therefore, a total of 41/60 points ==> 3 Stars
Nevertheless, for the full package there is just 4 stars because I was now motivated for 80h the game and is well worth a star. And also that you get the add-ons for about 70 now free is surely alone a worth buying)
Anyone who still wants to know something precisely to the game can, like to comment on my post. I will then respond as quickly as possible or update the review. I hope I could help in the purchase decision!
