1) clamping of saw blades.
Quite easy is it to use a saw blade with cross pins. 6 of them are already coarse and fine 6 available in the basic version. The sheets are robust and deliver very clean cuts, but they want because of their depth (which is the size of the saw blade in the cutting direction) of 2mm not easy to go around the curve. As usual Laubsägeblätter are clearly at an advantage. One can such leaves (they have no cross-pin) also used. However, this is quite a fumbling in the dark, under the saw table. Convince me personally saw blades with Rundumzahnung most. These can be cut in any direction, even without the workpiece to reorient. So far I've found only leaves those without pins. Clamping in the saw is still more difficult than normal Laubsägeblättern because the sheet is coiled and thus wider than a simple jigsaw blade. It fits only if one makes the coiling at the ends, where the sheet is clamped in a vice flat, but then it goes!
2) sawdust
Saw makes dust. The deposits on the workpiece and impedes view of the sawing line. He also accumulates under the workpiece and is spreading slowly but surely throughout the room. Proxxon builds on the saw a little blowgun, which is to blow away the sawdust around the saw blade around. Pustet quite weak, but is just enough so. At the rear of the saw is a connecting piece for the connection of a vacuum cleaner. My Miele fits without additional adapters. Then, however, the saw become a quite loud instrument because the air circulation under the saw table creates a considerable noise. But you can cut also in the parlor then absolutely, without leaving a film of dust after cleaning or maintenance. Nevertheless, it scratches in the neck when you're working longer, and I therefore still put a dust mask, this white, light masks that you get for one euro at Conrad everywhere. The problem of dust removal is certainly not solved yet perfect, but that goes for all saws, not only for Proxxon.
3) Handling
So far I have collected only experience with ordinary jigsaw. Working with a scroll saw takes some acclimation. However, it works much faster and easier than by hand. And it's much more fun! The brushless motor is running pleasantly quiet.
4) accommodation
After work the saw to disappear somewhere, preferably in the closet. The piece is quite large, especially in the sawing direction, but also in height. I have an old kitchen cabinet with standard 60 cm depth. As it fits just so.
5) Review
Because of the problematic clamping of saw blades without pin I subtract a star, so stay four!
