The sword must stand (3-piece) are self-assembled as the guard plates must be individually attached to the swords (Here is an enclosed rubber ring is pressed on the hilt), which we know from other Bokken sets as well.
The material feels high quality, and also holds some powerful blows, but a one sees quite quickly traces (The black varnish goes to the impact notches from) if you too vigorously trained them. I'm using the katana in Ninjutsu training against other wood and plastic katanas, and against Bo and Yari. Afraid that it breaks, I did not, however.
The hand-carved dragon is very detailed and lovingly designed, really nice work!
The only criticism is the hilt. It bothers a bit more after 3-4 strokes to push the hilt again, otherwise it waddled (Know I but also from more expensive models), therefore the star deduction.
All in all, I do not think it at the price gets something better:
- High quality material
- Attention to detail
- Shipping Faster
- Cute dealer
