Milwaukee cordless drill M12 BDDX set with quick-change chuck system (Misc.)

Customer Review

Property me the set consisting of
2 x 12 V / 2.0 Ah Red-Li-Ion battery,
Angle attachment,
10mm quick change,
Eccentric intent,
Charger C12 C
bought a PH2 bit and carrying case.

Not here but at a local retailer, because I had desperately needed a new machine. This I have now also had a bit more common in use and do this but to consider to be good.

So far I have done all the work with a green Bosch 14.4.
The well everything went.
Bosch has two batteries, 2 courses and display on which you can still choose whether you with wood, metal or stone works (since 2005, the 2. Identical, as had the first passed away).
I would have not brought the second, when this would have been at this time of total scrap. At least from my perspective at that time.
Now I'm smarter ;-)

I am amateur craftsmen, so no professional the day has his tools in use.
My reasoning was also in this purchase, what to spend so much money if you use this machine "rarely" to.

In recent months, but I did have to re-renovate much (with a friend) and also had a professional tool on site, which I was concomitantly times. There were Festool machines. Over 2 months I helped there almost every day and work with the Festool CXS, the greater rarely used.
Since that moment, I found my Bosch just yet scrap and tried to use the Bosch only as little as possible / necessary.
Because I wanted to, but afford no Festool and still does not want to, I have been looking for possible alternatives (please do not stone).
And I have the following models / companies considered
Milwaukee C12, Bosch (blue) GSR 10,8LI-2, or 10.8 Li, Makita and Metabo. All the prize limit 150, but rather the direction of 100, which is almost possible with Bosch in different sets.

The Makita cost 177 had lamp and radio while (I did not) and was therefore no longer in the shortlist because expensive than Bosch.
The Bosch 10.8 Li-2 (ie with 10mm chuck) was on set at 150, the net at the 110th
From the handling ago I found both the Makita, Bosch and the super. Both quite similar in their hands. The other values quite similar.
The processing and the running are good at both. The force can be metered readily and both also have torque levels.

However, I absolutely not one thing liked, with a bit attachment to change various bits faster, me the little machine was simply not compact enough. That's simply too long to me. The Metabo I have no longer even want to look at why, because of this it would have been identical.
I had frequently the problem, especially in furniture, which I could not do anything with the old Bosch, as these was just too big.
On the web it looked to me as if the Bosch had a change chuck (confusion with the 10,8LI (ie without the "-2" at the end) - I thought that would be the same machine).

So, again looked again home on the internet and thought to myself: well, then you have to get 2 machines, a mini and the Bosch with 10mm.
The Mini (in this case from Worx (WX251.1) for 40) which should serve for furniture and the weekend, locally from the hardware store and the Bosch from the Internet to iron the price of the Mini back out.

Again at home, I had to the battery of the Worx load that lasted 3 hours.
When I wanted to build the lighter furniture, I have stopped after the first 2 screws and drove back to the dealer who had the Bosch.
This had also been previously shown me the Milwaukee that I have then bought immediately.

Why?
Quite simple. The Milwaukee has a removable lining, as well as the Festool, Festool is the only more expensive.
The change chuck I found really great when you work, because often I had to either drill and screws, or different bits when using screws (Torx and PZ2).
If removing the chuck, you can directly insert a bit. This can remain there, even if one makes the chuck back on it. This also included the length bit smaller, so you have much better reach to different places.
So chuck it, back down and so on, what is going on quite easy and is not costly, as to switch a bit holder, bits.

Why not?
A small blue Bosch and the Mini-Worx are both together a compromise, thereby marginally cheaper (about 80).
Furthermore, the Festool had such a quiet operation that you thought there is nothing, but was there umpteen times more powerful than the old Bosch.
When the M12 is almost identical. Possibly a little louder, but power without end.
Similarly, the dose of speed. In Milwaukee, I find this even slightly better, as more minimal resistance when pressing is felt.
That is also the reason why I hope to go a hobby artisans to be useful in the selection.
I always assumed that 14.4V 10.8V or 12V is better than so.
Furthermore, I thought, if my old machine has enough power, it is because I have no 18V or the same.
The much too fast empty expectant battery, for me was not unusual, after all so many machines in Sets 2 batteries and many also have "only" 1.3 or 1.5 Ah.
And if you then also working properly, so a lot of power = lots of energy = Battery quickly empty
Clear I knew that the more expensive must be "better", but I just thought that are more robust and designed for everyday use and that I would not need.
But a Milwaukee (M12 with 12V and 2 Ah) has so much more power (power and battery endurance), I would never have believed.
I have not worked with the Milwaukee M12 as much as with the Festool, but enough to say that I would not necessarily prefer the Festool.

Milwaukee M12 BDDX:
- The batteries last an eternity. I have not yet managed a battery, one day, to make completely flat (had also not renovate all day)

- The charging process is very short about 60 minutes. I have not measured, since I only charge the battery when it is empty, and in the meantime continue to do the other (ie not stand next to it) until it is empty (which can be drawn very long, because the batteries not discharged, so when not in use), that is, when I'm done with work, I grab both batteries back in the box and the charger also. Yet I was at no time been faced with the problem of being unable to work because a battery always had enough juice to go on to, or even to be able to work to the end.
That was when Bosch differently, there was at least. A battery always available 24/7 in the charging cradle, because I do not just else could work. This was replaced at the beginning, so that the next right can continue charging.
for example at the beginning I had a half-full battery.
3 IKEA kitchen furniture (large, heavy solid wood block modules) and a few hours later, this was still half full, at least from her display.
I think IKEA is a reference for vieeeele screws

- As long as there is juice in the battery, the power remains, the force does not decrease

- The accessory is simply awesome. In the shop I said there is something like oh, eccentric, okay, but I will probably not need, but the angle I think it's great.
Nope, just the same evening I needed the eccentric, in a piece of furniture. Have thus the corner connectors / connection box turned off, what I have always done otherwise with a screwdriver, otherwise you will not come with an e-device off (mostly, because they are always in the corners).
Without problems, did not have to intervene once the screwdriver.
On the corner, you can also make the chuck top, which works out pretty well
,
- Have the chuck creates up to 10mm and where I have previously drilled only plasterboard or wood, and walls for the wired (s) used, I'm now almost everything with the M12.
Of course, also depends on the wall, or how deep and how wide should be the hole, but for as standard to 8mm, so far I had no problems and thus the small Wired (green Bosch, about 50 500-600W) no longer use.

- If the chuck is removed and the reaction is carried directly to the insert bit, the machine is very short, about 15cm, so only 3-4 cm more than the very small, like the Worx 251.1, thus also comes into effect in areas with little Course aim

- The weight and the hand feeling is just fine. The volume is also great. Using the torque levels and good controllability, I have been much better sunk all screws, as with the old Bosch, which is also because I now better / best get to the screws (otherwise always easily recognized obliquely when it was close, to just not work manually need, etc.)

Compared to Festool, I work with the M12 also precisely because it has not yet happened to me at the M12 to create too many turns at the wrong time.
Sounds goofy and by awkward, but who ever had a Festool in hand and has previously worked with 08-15 machines, is initially always operate with to a nervous finger on the trigger.

I would highly recommend this machine in this set.
Not Made in Germany, but with very high quality.
