At its 1950 publication, some of the pages was the resumption of pages of the unfinished version (the maritime part and the passage involving Jews of the Irgun and occupied Palestine by Britaniques).
The 1971 edition has removed the stay of our hero in a state under British protectorate that became Israel and highlights the direct conflict Ehr- Bab El Abdallah Ben Kalish Ezab turbulent father who does not hesitate to do 400 shots, both Tintin & Haddock which will give him a spanking that Dr. Müller for the latter causing an accident.
With Thompson and Thomson, humor is: whether the "Simoun" (accident with a tow truck) or Jeep (mirages and resuming a route that makes the Jeep around in circles and then collided with a mosque in the 'prayer time). Unexpected end we note that for Police attrappent capillary disease that will review in the lunar adventure.
Successful album though damaged by simplifying 1971 was nevertheless highly appreciated by Hergé believed that the simplest story to understand, though he was forced to revise the story to avoid polemics kingdom Kingdom.
I will recommend to purchase the earlier editions of this album just like the Black Isle to better observe the evolution of the work Hergé.
Note that Tintin in the editions before 1971 has a lookalike Goldstein, Jewish accomplice who kidnap Irgun Tintin by mistake. However, they are proving far more sympathetic than Bab El Ehr and his men.
Regarding Captain Haddock, Hergé is careful to justify more accurately its absence. However, the fact that it reappears in Wadesdah leads us to believe that the mobilization was to take command of a ship bound for Khemed Emir Ben Kalish meet Ezab, probably to solve the fuel problem and avoid falsified a conflict.
