Appearance:
----------
Unlike my previous receiver (Yamaha RX-V 367) it is slightly higher and thus corresponds more closely to the standard size.
I like the look. Comes across pretty massive.
The display color is the black variant green and silver blue variant.
+ Good design
o The display color can not be selected in the menu.
Processing:
------------------
+ Looks quality of processed. Nothing rattles.
o Only the loudspeaker control is too easy for micht. I would have liked more resistance.
Connections:
------------------
+ All speaker connections have screw terminals. In addition, Banana plugs can be plugged in when you're in the middle
the plastic part rausnimmt. (A screw reindrehen briefly and then pull out)
Setting:
----------------
For initial setup, I have decided to do about the screen display on TV even though you could see the all settings via the display and adjust.
+ Auto Standby after 30 minutes when no input signal or operation.
o There is no calibration system. No problem for me because I like even manually adjusting.
o the name of the source you can not rename manually unlike Yamaha. But there are predefined information we can select Xbox, Wii or PS3 the man.
o basic volume for .NET is similar to loud and you can adjust for each source individually nich to control the volume.
Sound:
--------------
Generally I find the sound good although I would have liked a little more treble. But no problem, Treble and Bass can be adjusted retrospectively.
I have given to the voices better heard at Centre +2.
Unfortunately, there are no global "Adaptive DRC" engages in any sound format. It exists from TX-NR 514 eventually.
The built-in DRC in only when Dolby Digital, and then only if the information stored in the stream.
- If you want to enjoy a movie night silent language and the sound effects will be loud. Stupid.
o With my old favorite mode -Direct- unlike Yamaha subwoofer is NOT addressed. So you have to take stereo. This Direct mode is suitable for tower speaker that can reproduce the bass content well.
+ I like the, the DSPs adjusted depending on the input signal.
for example: If after a TV station (1) of the stereo sends on to "All Channel Stereo" so this mode will engage only in stereo.
Sends a transmitter (2) in AC3 2.1 and is situated on Dolby Pro Logic 2 reference is made from now on with AC3 2.1 Dolby Pro Logic always 2.
Network
----------------
In addition I have taken the following settings:
- Network Standby set to ON
- Fixed IP
- Additional sound mode "Music Optimizer" for the source of NET turned on. Sounds like my opinion better at.
I hear only vTuner stations in internet radio. Since the selection is so large you can save your favorite stations as favorites.
They are then stored under "My Favorites", either by remote control or via the web interface of the receiver. You can shoot up to 40 stations, sort of Reiehnfolge is possible.
Here it comes, unfortunately time and again that the transmitter will not play favorites. It appears "Can not Play".
For this reason, I have the receiver in Onkyo. vTuner. com registered, because you can manage vTuner favorites only on the side.
In addition, you can see the sender there Sort By Position and store in groups. (Such as pop, chillout, classical ...)
+ Channel change very quickly, including within seven seconds. Buffering (depending on connection quality)
+ For hours not a single hanger
+ Zone 2 is NET assignable. Wireless headphones off so you can without getting up as desired between headphones or Lausprecher Select.
DLNA is also wonderful and pretty fast. WMA and MP3 are abgspielt. As it stands with Flac or Ogg I can not say unfortunately.
Video formats will not play.
Onkyo Remote App
-----------------
I've tried both the Android and the iPad app.
+ Switching on and off, input selection and zone selection are taken
+ Reacts very quickly, within a second
+ Songs on the device can also be streamed and coils using the Fortschrittsalken possible. The internal Playlists can be selected.
o DLNA no selection possible. Clicking the DLNA device nothing happens. He is apparently the "Enter" command does not continue.
Solution: On the App back to device control and there Enter. If one now goes back on DLNA one is in the device.
- No coils with DLNA playback. Although it is possible with the remote control via FF and RW. These "keys" are absent in the APP during playback.
So that was my impression. I'm pretty pleased with the receiver. Mir were mainly the networking capabilities important and there I find the Onkyo Remote App along with the class. Although but lacks Airplay the Remote app makes amends as streaming so is possible.
What I have not tried is looped through HDMI or USB connection. I can not say anything because I do not need right now.
