With this record I share a very personal story: It was the first CD that I bought at that time in the field of heavy metal. The age of twelve I stood, my father behind me, in front of the CD rack and allowed me choose "in the name of God", a CD of the band whose logo had never left me since Easter fire with the cowl-makers of our village. I picked up the album with the most innocent cover, that was the only reason that I had not bought "Piece Of Mind" or even "Killers". When I the beginning of "Aces High" heard, I felt: my "Masters of the Universe" - radio play times were past! I would be "Metal"! Enough babble. I am now 15 years older and have naturally gained me any further panels of Maiden over time. And still counts "Powerslave" to my favorites. The reason: On this album the true harmony in the songwriting. Guitars, bass, drums and vocals form a perfect symbiosis and act like an organism that now is dedicated to different content. The Second World War, the time of the Pharaohs, an old sailor poem medieval Duelle- is also thematically provided for guests. Maiden also sound very fast, well "oiled", pronounced successive recorded and heavy. So for Maiden newbies (and there is still) a good start, even if the plate in the middle part has small weaknesses.
