I deliberately bought the USB hub for the "feature" that it can flow back power. So I'm now running my Raspberry Pi, without having to be supplied via the regular microUSB connector with power. Works fine and I can now, for example, 2,5 '' - hard drives without its own power supply, thanks to the hubs at Raspberry connect. Without the active hub mentioned the hard drive would get the power from Raspi which can be here ever overwhelmed ...
Based on other reviews but I will refrain from ever connect the hub to a PC or notebook ^^. (According to some reviewers caused the stroke broken USB ports to a broken power supply!). Anyone over the stroke but - as I - a Raspi with electricity and also will have enough reserves to connect electricity eat more devices on Raspi, is well served by this stroke in my opinion.
