The Tarion OS03566 tripod (40 cm) offers good quality at a reasonable price. The necessary settings are easily carried out. With a quick release plate of the Cullmann Tarion weighs 1180g. It gives remarkably good results with my Panasonic Lumix GH2 with wide-angle zoom Lumix G 7-14mm (weight 770 g). For cameras less than 400 g should be used smaller Steadycams. With my Panasonic DMC FT5 (weight 230 g) of the floating effect was impaired by disturbing the step movements while running. On the other hand, my Canon Legria HF G30 (weight 926 g) proved to be too heavy for the 40 cm Tarion. The running movements were indeed well damped but the camera drifted uncontrollably away. The larger Tarion (60 cm) is certainly the better choice for cameras from 900 g. But then the unit camera + tripod would weigh more than 2kg and would therefore be difficult for my city tours videos. Size and weight of the 40 cm, however, are still acceptable Tarion. I can, I take comfort in a thin laptop backpack and have it quickly for future reference. The Lumix GH2 fits into a small bag. For me, this is an optimum solution.
