2x4 GB DDR3 [RipjawsZ] F3-12800CL9Q-8GBZL (2Gx4) @ 1600MHz, 1.5V
i5 2550K @ 4,6GHz, 1,352V
500GB WD HDD 7k2rpm
GTX 680 @ PCIe 2.0 x16
The motherboard offers good overclocking capability. I recommend an update to the 0907 bios or better, as it contains some improvements (recognizes the XMP profile of Ripjaws and provides more configuration options). One notices that the motherboard is still very fresh in the market. There will certainly be some improvements over time.
The i5 2550 is running smoothly with the above settings.
The features of the motherboard are reasonable for the price. SLI and CrossFire are 2x PCIe 2.0 x8 or PCIe 3.0 is possible (with an Ivy Bridge CPU). Even 2x eSATA 6Gb / s ports are available. Very glad I was to encounter a TPM header. However, this only works with Asus TPM module TPM / FW3.19 with the item number 90-C1B0AU-00XBN0VZ or alternatively with the TPM / FW3.16 with the item number: 90-C1B0AP-00XBN00Z. For all Windows 7 Ultimate users highly recommended. This was also the main reason to purchase the motherboard. Unfortunately, Asus includes no corresponding module.
Unfortunately, the HDMI and DVI output only supply max. a resolution of 1920x1200. A DisplayPort connection, I would have very desirable (even if it is irrelevant to the i5 2550). The internal SATA ports are angled luckily, making a dual GPU setup possible. The layout of the mainboards I feel as good for my needs.
For the PC enthusiasts of all wants, this motherboard will probably not be good enough. For the rest, it is highly empfehln. Esp. if one is building a compact uATX yet on Crossfire or SLI could not live without. The price is just right (to 120).
For all Z68 motherboard owners (there are quite support that, the PCIe 3.0!) A change, however, is not worthwhile.
