Negative points:
- Does not better wireless range than my "old" netgear to the single antenna and small while it has 3 huge antennas (in my eyes) on the head.
- The documentation is pretty bad.
Here is an installation procedure (without the enclosed CD) for those who do not want to use the router functionality (separation of 2 networks) but simply the access point wi-fi (a lot of people I think):
- Connect a RJ45 cable to one of the 4 LAN ports (yellow) to the computer to be used to configure it. It may be best to first disconnect the computer from the existing network.
- We open a browser on the computer. The device is configured by default to 192.168.0.1 (or 192.168.1.1 or URL provided on the back of the case). We enter [...] and it falls on the device's configuration interface (which you can assign a fixed IP address, configure the wireless access point, etc.).
- Connect another RJ45 cable to one of the 3 remaining free LAN ports of the device to the existing network (which already provides internet). So we do not use the WAN port (blue) of the unit.
In this simple configuration, the blue Internet port appreil is not used during configuration and is not used in operation. The camera operates in single wireless access point with a gigabit mini-hub.
