The rain collector has made a solid impression and is visually appealing. Must be considered the space - the downpipe must not similar right in the corner of a wall projection run. In a heavy rain, a serious weakness of the collector revealed: The rain had somewhat dissolved in the Gutter firmly glued leaves and this blocked the entire downpipe above the collector, so that the barrel remained largely empty and the gutter overflowed. Thus the self-cleaning function works only with minor impurities, but not in leaves. (At least not in larger leaves like maple. Birch etc. possibly slips through.) The efficiency is lower than with very simple designs without sieve. We have two identical halves of the roof - at the one mounted a cheaper rain collector for lack of space and on the other the Beckmann V1 Filter-filling machine. In a direct comparison between the two (freshly cleaned) collectors of Beckmann V1 significantly less water starts at the same flow on through the downpipe.
