Purchase reason: wanted a pure logger, who accompanies me on walks, tours, photo tours. iPhone could do that, but the battery does quickly limp with most GPS apps. The Holux runs 24 hrs. Of continuous use and has good space for many waypoints, depending on the recording frequency.
Conjunction with the Mac: the link between Mac and Holux is the "USB to UART Bridge VCP CP210x Driver" (Google) company SILABS. I recommend explicitly the latest version (3.1) of the home page to load and install.

I would like to warn against the BT747 program. Is often recommended, unfortunately, this program has the "power" the Holux to transform into a "Brick" (Brick) without function. "Holux bricked" is sometimes a Google search value. I do not even happened, because I initially relied on the recommendations. The restoration is a spasm and goes only by flashing the firmware.
