This is perhaps Delays greatest achievement: not that he is the man, to which almost everyone can agree - there's also Peter Fox - but that he has the courage to take this kitsch and kitsch to cult can be. It is his style-self that expresses just in the music as the look that makes him so important. Since it is then not matter if he is in his texts, or in interviews constantly contradicts itself, for it is also entirely sausage what is said or written about him - what matters is that it happens. Even under pressure to succeed is Delay can not be set, because it sets the tone and the pace.
Was musical and not the ex-Beginner the Innovator - that is disco-funk as it was played in the United States even before 30 so (we only have the - ahem - borrowed 'funky guitar in, show business' -, Load Night A DJ Saved My Life '- listen), but that's entertaining, technically brilliant and the songs all have enough hooks and hangers to move people to dance and toe-tapping. That there really nothing more happened than what the Jazzkantine, or many Acid Jazz protagonists made 10 to 15 years ago, speaks more for the big sellers Delay - he makes a revival, it says, but no one and sold it as something new.
Lyrically he balances constantly between satire, Selbstverar *** e and political correctness, but this brings extremely entertaining and humorous over. The quality of the songs is here a total of maybe a bit better than on the previous album - always assuming you can do with funk and R & B slightly. So poppy as Disko No. 1 but present, which should always be a problem for anyone.
Nevertheless - the 5th star gets this album especially that it comes so very naturally-arrogant, and nothing, absolutely nothing cares about the latest trends such as the '80s revival, or the currently playing dying 60's Soul Revival, neither flirts with the young generation of German hip-hop artist, nor an alternative to the more intellectual-moderate ingratiate listeners - it's easy; only for themselves - old-fashioned, modern and well.
