English Electric (Audio CD)

Customer Review

OMD now present their second album after their comeback in 2010 - during the comeback album "History of Modern" was still up bride somewhat inhomogeneous and contained many older but unpublished title, "English Electric" is largely freed of contaminated sites (except Kissing the Machine from 1993) and, in contrast to its predecessor by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys' under one roof composed "and not by sending out sound snippets via the Internet - that's the new album also clear to listen. It's almost become a concept album by going to the future visions of the 40s and 50s and what came of it. Musically OMD has remained true to his style without sounding somehow dusty or to recycle themselves. It's amazing how fresh look comes the album - the men are now also in his 50s - and there really is no failure on the album. The bonds of power plant are clearly audible and intentionally - and that's a good thing.
OMD show for 34 years after their first album they still have new ideas. In addition to the typical loose but not superficial song to whistle along also deeper songs on the album.

Playing tips: Helen of Troy (beautiful song - hope that is still single) - Our System (spacinger song with images of Voyager 2 from Jupiter) - Dresden (somewhat reminiscent of Enola Gay - also the subject here)

To date, the electropop album of the year!
