"The Englischman ..." is a film in which (for me) almost everything right. A film that can make a to a "Welsh patriots", without that he would also only a short scene, ... require the presentation of the usual bait, like sex, violence. The film lives through the story, by the simple, yet clever peasant residents of the small town at the foot of the proud Ffynnon Garw. Downright brilliant in the English chamfer the Welsh inked English the locals, it evaluates the film compared to the very good German dubbed version still on. Wonderfully quirky types, the great Reverend (Kenneth Griffiths) in his role, no less the brethren Twp (Tudor and Hugh Vaughan). A crucial role is played by the exceedingly successful music that accompanies virtually every scene matching. Compare. The preaching of the Reverend, the appeal of Betty to Anson on the top of the mountain, the march of the people on the Ffynnon Garw The two stars I rate uterschiedlich. Very good because unobtrusively into the plot and the people einpassend Colm Meaney as Morgan the Goat, convincingly Tara Fitzgerald, her smile alone is the video value. Hugh Grant well in the representation of some scattered Anson, it is me but "too good" for the film. Overall, I would not miss the video and it can look at again and again.
