Great, comprehensive compilation of Rodgers / Edwards

When the disco wave then rolled I was 11 years old. At this time I had no idea about the contexts which were behind the published titles. Were there Sheila & B. Devotion, Chic, Sister Sledge and more that even then I liked well. Only 20 years later I realized that the two producer & songwriter Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards stood behind these productions. So far I had only one compilation "Best of Chic" which was quite often loaded into the CD player, especially because of the great basslines the bass guitarist Edwards. Pleased to meet you I have this box now at Amazon discovered on the full range of creativity of Chic founder can be found.

The sound is consistently good, in some places a bit mushy and has little in the upper registers. But this is to get over the grounds of age. The compilation is very well done. Toll still such compilations are available in times of Music Downloads and the MP3 generation. Is also the Nile in the enclosed booklet still unpublished lines of itself is interesting. All CDs are held in vinyl look.

So who is the disco period, like has the bass guitar in the foreground and the radio facing, I can present this box only warmly recommend.
