The FB should replace a Netgear router, which is unable to use Annex J. By changing my DSL access (T-Online), a change was needed. I need 3 numbers and so I can switch to pure IP line. This then falls off the splinters and my ugly green box for Siemens DECT phones can now spend their further existence in the basement.
The packaging is great. Not much Plastikgeraffel or otherwise. Nevertheless, the box is securely packaged and takes so notwithstanding the way for future users.
The Quick Start Guide is understandable and even here is clear: a product of Germany, in which the instructions were not written by nerds. Simply and clearly understood the first steps of the installation (wiring) are explained.
Unwrapped, connected and logged via LAN cable to the box. The first thing the little red box enter a new password. Quick completed and already it goes on.
First, I have my DECT phones (2 handsets) logged on to the box. This is so quick and easy using the wizard that you may not believe it. Handset 1 is phoned from the FRITZ! Box, runs. Mobilteil2 is phoned from the box, runs well. The number assignment is simple and understandable. Rarely something user friendly had in his hands. The answering machine can be set up quickly and the user does not face any hurdles that must be overcome.
After that configure the DSL access, less than 2 minutes it took, we are online.
Now just bring the wireless functionality to run to, oops, already finished? Lasted less than 3 minutes. I have 4 computers on the network, a Devolo Powerline LAN and 1x PS3 and 2 smartphones and a Canon printer is addressed via WLAN. Everything was absolutely no problem.
The surface of the FRITZ! Box has a pleasant design and is very clear. When you first start the default is displayed surface that hides some of the options / settings. The normal user does not need that perhaps, the experienced user can unlock the extra options with one click. The GUI (Graphical User Interface = User Interface) can run efficiently, it does not take a few seconds until the screen updated. With the Netgear looked different, lazy, snoring!
All in all, therefore, the box installs quickly, very user friendly and it is fast. What more do you want. NAS or media server I have not tried.
To sum the whole thing together:

I hope that this review can be a little help with the decision.
