I want to ask in advance that I am declared Medion fan (PC, Navi, etc.). After my old Medion Navi, with whom I was happy was broken through his own fault, I have made myself again on the search and rolled reviews.
Conclusions from eg the magazine Navi Connect: Medion is always pointed in price-performance. So I decided for the newest model (for which there were no reviews).
Super when Gopal P5455 is in fact the very good Aussattung for fair money. My new Navi ran a week-long top. Certain limitations are there in the voice quality of the Bluetooth. In city traffic, a good thing. For faster journey ambient noise for both callers are too loud. But you can not expect more certainly also with other devices. So this is not a smear.
After a week I got at power often no GPS signal (even outdoors). Remedy created a reboot. Then always immediately and permanently reception. Funny and not reproducible (I am a scientist and we are always pleased about reproducibility ...).
Later I felt the TMC reception as well, except that a restart brought nothing. I must say that I had the machine every day in four different vehicles in use, with the same result. After a few days and the restart brought nothing. Not sometimes - the GPS receiver worked then very unreliable.
Then I ordered a replacement unit. This unit had absolutely no GPS reception. Not in the car outdoors. For several days, because I'm stubborn.
So I've been buying reversed and actually bought another new device. The 3rd with a new story:
It worked well in principle. But: GPS reception when you first turn there or not there. If not there, then also no longer get. Remedy mostly by repeated off (even outdoors!). The TMC signal: always weak, partly for days no reception and then only very slightly (!). I'm in and around Munich on the way, because there are tens of powerful radio stations, even in the tunnel!
So I tried it with a 4 (!!!!) device that I give back to already excessive routine 2-week test today.
From a versiertem dynamic retailers in a large Elektronikette with plenty Navi knowledge I get some advice: He has confirmed that Medion usually provides excellent facilities, but in order to keep the price affordable and / or obsolete components installs. I can only confirm in this model. I had since December 2010 (!!!) frustration and gave this device again and again a chance.
The quality of this device is awkward for Medion!
