Symbolized the journey through a series of maps designed. The map on the left edge is the home port of Lisbon, followed by 3 already exposed cards (coastal cities) and other 6 (3 players) or 9 (4 players) concealed cards. The rightmost card is synonymous with India, the aim of the trip.
Each player may take 2 actions per turn. So you can use additional tokens from the supply (extends the possibilities for action), ships along the coastal towns move, discover unknown parts of the route, purchase merchandise and sell (puts money), building built in coastal cities (brings advantages and VPs), acquire technologies ( brings advantages in game actions) or the scope (increase the radius of action) its ships.
All this is implemented with small colorful wooden cubes. They are used universally as a commodity, ship, display of money, victory points, technologies, etc. Of course, one is never enough, the number of standing for enacting dice, and there's constant shortages and will therefore be carefully considered, for which one depending on the game situation at his dice effective uses. Nevertheless, the game does not degenerates into brooding because the usual rotation (Lisbon> ship> Goods / Building> Money> Lisbon) has rapidly internalized, so that hardly any waiting times. Even if they initially seem expensive, it is recommended that at least to acquire as soon as possible in the game a technology to profit from their advantage as possible.
The game ends when one player India has discovered or if two players have no more wooden cubes in their stock. Then will be charged. The winner is the player with the most victory points (so need not necessarily synonymous with the one player who first reaches India).
The playing time is given realistic with 30 to 45 minutes. The playing cards are with 12 x 8 cm significantly larger than normal playing cards and really beautifully illustrated. Only the 3 technology cards that are available to all players together available would have to be somewhat larger or can be marked with symbols, because the explanatory text under the respective technology has failed comparatively small for my taste and not for all players at the table equal legible.
On to India! has more strategic options and is more complex than it may have at first glance appear. It is helpful if you have ever played board games with similar themes, then you have the abstract multifunctionality of wooden cubes quickly understood. Otherwise, the game started quickly and easily designed, above all, thanks to the extensive and really good game instructions.
Not least because of the low price (currently around 12 EUR) on has to India! its 5 stars deserved. Where else do you get offered so much depth of play for little money? In my view, a real alternative to the in game material often exuberant normal board games and also perfect for holidays (small size and weight) and as Mitbringspiel to give away.
-> Strong buy recommendation!
