The Order 1886 (uncut) Standard Edition - [PlayStation 4] (Video Game)

Customer Review

The Order in 1886 is one of the meistkritisierten titles recently. Some time ago a complete walkthrough has appeared on Youtube. The season: a little over 4 hours. I can give the all clear. Depending on how much time you invest in the game, you should be busy 6-8 hours.

The game itself was always touted as a very cinematic experience. Many cutscenes and quick time events. And yes, the game has to a large extent. I have here but clearly say: Who informed beforehand, is getting exactly presented by the developers. Here no one can really say he buy a pig in a poke.
In my opinion, The Order 1886, a more in depth than it is, for example, a Heavy Rain or Beyond Two Souls. Overall, the focus is still on the very filmic. I would say the game settles the gameplay / Film Focus forth as somewhere between a Max Payne 3 and Beyond Two Souls / Heavy Rain.
That does not appeal to everyone here. If it is argued that this "medium" is too little and too much game film, then that's a perfectly legitimate statement.
And in this context I can adhere directly: Do you like this kind of "game" is not, let it remain. Do you want a world-class third-person shooter, you do not buy the game. Since one needs nothing more to say in principle.

Can you basically start with this kind of play a little? Then I can tell you: Yep, that thing is worth. These now, in detail more:

Story: the basis for the story is the saga surrounding King Arthur. He and his Round Table have found the holy grail, and since then the order is maintained. The death of a member of the Order, so someone else slips into his shoes under the same name Ritter. Between the original forecast, which plays in the 5th century AD, and the story of The Order in 1886 are, as the title of the game already, a few hundred years. We are in Victorian London, at the time for example, Jack The Ripper is on the loose. Thanks to Nicola Tesla's technology is very advanced, despite the ancient Settings. The Order 1886, a good portion of Steampunk.
But all is not peace-joy-pancake. The populace is unhappy and has established an insurgency. The Order is trying to curb the situation on behalf of the Queen of England. In addition to the rebels, however, there is another enemy: the Lycans, the you will from time to time meet in the game.
You play Greyson, also known as Sir Galahad and tries the situation around the Lycans and the rebels dissolve. Gradually, however, it turns out that not everything is as it seems.
The story is told in an exciting and fast and keeps a really on the controller firmly. The phrases come at the right time, so that the tension in my case was always upright. The end is satisfactory overall, but leaves open questions 1-2. This leads to a successful conclusion, but quite the cries for a successor or a story DLC.

Graphics / Sound:
Here you have the developers praise. Yes ... the thing is strictly linear, which makes it much easier to conjure up a good graphics on the screen. But my goodness: Does this look bombig! If I purely look at the optics (and now even technical aspects and scope or freedom not, that have an impact on the visual quality of the game outside, before leaving) I can say with a clear conscience that The Order 1886, the current best-looking game on the Mark is. But the character models with all their details and smooth animations are amazing!
No ... foto realistic the game is not. But I personally would say that The Order 1886, the game is what most closely approximates what is to come at the moment. Visually, the thing is really a real hammer!
The sound, including music give also no nakedness. The German voice actors also do a great job!
The technology also contributes greatly to the whole cinematic staging. And all this in a really cool, unused settings. You have to just let the game: It raises the bar for other titles very, very far up!

Gameplay:
The gameplay is limited to QuickTime events, small (rare and not annoying) mini-games and third-person shooter deposits.
The latter also come so often that I see more The Order as a game, as a Beyond Two Souls. As I said earlier: Somewhere between Beynd Two Souls and Max Payne. 3
The shooter deposits function and fun, especially since there are definitely 2-3 really exciting weapons. Really showers bring The Order here but nothing. It's good, but it's just not a pure third-person shooter. It loosens the Cinematic on, it makes me more into the action, but it is not so groundbreaking that I can recommend the game players that a third-person shooter expect here.

Conclusion:
The Order distinguishes itself by its production and its technology. The story captivates and everything is, because if one more is on cinematic "games" a really great overall package. Here and there, there is room for improvement, so the thing is definitely not perfect. And I think a little more game, would have been quite feasible. Nevertheless me the game has great chat. It took me about 7 1/2 hours and was thus slightly below 10 per hour. That's as much as I pay generally for a visit to the cinema at Cinemaxx. That's clear to me personally.
But if you want really rather play as a film, a third-person shooter, or just nothing you can do with it when a game rather goes in the direction of film, let's stay away from this title. Even if the thing is more game than similar titles, you certainly will with these expectations are not happy with this title.
