Recourse against a 250GB SSD Samsung 840 Evo (Notebook Kit) exchanged and installed with a 1TB HDD instead "HDD Caddy" the Blurayplayer I now still have to do in an external housing the 1TB HDD.
Thus, for me the ideal combination of fast SSD for the OS, a 1TB HDD for data storage and an external Bluraylaufwerk.
Some notes from me, for the like intends:
The SSD I had first flipped with the enclosed in SSD Notebook Kit software from the HDD.
The bottom can be removed without very good in itself and one then has access to the whole interior.
Simply loosen all visible screws from the bottom. For me a Torx T5 has passed.
Then with a credit card the gap from the front gently pry back.
Back at the ventilation grilles something to watch out because there are some locking lugs, but not in itself a problem.
For HDD expansion it helps then remove the battery before (three screws) and the SSD purely then.
Install the HDD in the "HDD Caddy".
Had bought there only wrong.
Make sure that the HDD Caddy fits especially for the N550,
otherwise the bezel of the drive can not be mounted and you then permanently an ugly hole in the computer.
Bluraylaufwerk remove (one screw), cultivate screw attachment to the Caddy and Caddy then install HDD.
When booting quite often press ESC to get the boot menu or to select the SSD.
When you first time Lets the HDD expanded, it would have to boot directly from the SSD.
After the start you have yet, with the change of the SSD included software, the parameters of Win 8 on SSD operation.
If you are not satisfied with the pre-installed WIN 8, you can install a sleek and clean WIN 8.
This requires an original Win 8 (eg build 9200) Installation CD or ISO.
You can then make a USB stick, means "Windows 7 USB / DVD Download Tool".
but beware, drive must be formatted for WIN 8 in FAT32.
ie USB flash drive create with the program, copy all the files from the stick on HDD, format USB flash drive with FAT32 and back copy the files again.
Then in advance when booting multiple press F2 to get into the Bios.
There shall under Security "Secure Boot Control" on disable.
Before reinstalling should remove other disks.
USB flash drive then boot the pure and ESC repeatedly press to get into the boot menu.
There should now show up the stick, which one chooses to start the installation.
To install Win 8 on the SSD, all partitions on the SSD must be deleted at the beginning as part of the installation, after the installation is through.
WIN 8 Key goes without input, as it is stored in the hardware of the device.
However, it has the right to install WIN version that "WIN PRO 8" - version is unlikely to work.
After installing all the HDDs inside. "Secure Boot Control" again to enable filters (F2, Security)
The driver can be found on the Asus site.
Hope I have not forgotten anything or misdescribed.
If one finds an error, it may keep it: O)
Have Fun!
