The sound of the instruments is finely defined in the mids and highs; especially on acoustic guitars, very realistic (it's good, I listen to a lot of folk and related). I'm a little less seduced by the bass, but mostly because I do not like it, contrary to many people. That said, nothing really annoying: it's not a helmet "boom boom"! Its strongest point is the return of the voice, a quite impressive fidelity. All the subtleties of intonation are there, and timbre interpreters seems so true that I have the feeling that they sing me themselves (they even mainly, actually ...) in the ears ... And it ' is this kind of feeling one search with headphones for stereo!
Listed ergonomics and build quality, I am also very satisfied. The finish is quite ok and the strength of the product, both for the materials that their assembly, makes me confident in its ability to last (especially since I'm kind of careful). The detachable cable is also an incontestable, and its diameter as its manufacturing quality reassures compared to other headsets I've seen the same rate band. Finally, listening comfort is outstanding! Still, I'm wearing glasses, but have never felt uncomfortable pressure on the temples of the branches. And ears - I have rather large - fit perfectly into their "alcoves" without being compressed in any way .. As for keeping the helmet on the head, it is very good. It holds well, but loosely and headphones foams such as the arch perform their proper office. And the setting is childish.
In conclusion, I am very pleased with this acquisition. And I recommend it to anyone looking for a good headset for listening to lounge on chain or Hi-Fi converter. However, the HD 518 is not done nomadism: too bulky and not really insulated from the outside. But it makes sense, not having Sennheiser designed for that.
