have this patch panel (12Port) connected in a home network and would like to give my review on the product.
At a Glance:
+ Casing made of metal
+ Plenty of room inside
+ Connecting blocks color-coded (type A and B)
+ Cable fixing by cable ties at the back
+ Supplied cable ties
- Defective thread at a housing screw
- Few predefined mounting options
Well, now in detail:
Quality / processing:
I am very impressed by the quality. Metal case, screwed everything, nothing stuck. The terminal strips and RJ45 sockets are of good quality. The housing cover is held by four small screws, which are attached to the sides. As a pre-reviewer already wrote: watch out when space is limited, that one side has enough air for the screwdriver. After repeated up and screw threads has been with me housing side unfortunately adopted, but according to "fixed" is just stop "from" maybe I was in the case also to the very Grobmotoriker :) Therefore no devaluation.
A pity, I find that only two holes (with slots) on the bottom for mounting on a wall, etc. are provided. These are, if one removes the cover, obscured by the board with the terminal strips. On the other hand, fell to me no better fixing solution and on the other hand, the board can indeed Unscrew the emergency. But for wall mounting it is enough to turn two screws in the wall and something to stand out. The patch panel can then (such as a router or similar) hang with the slots in the screws. Worked for me, so I also prefer it no star from.
Connection:
When placing the individual wires I had no problems. The terminal strips are color coded, each of type A and type B. The cable strain relief - in addition to a screw inside the enclosure - mounted on the rear side additionally with cable ties to the base plate. This provides not only the strain relief for a kink and I find a good solution. Cable ties are supplied in sufficient numbers by the way: Bravo.
Function:
Without Problems. Have not measured the throughput, but also not heard any complaints from the people I've set up your network :-)
Conclusion: If at the price did not expect to get such a high quality product delivered. Strong buy recommendation!
So long,
LG PL
While still a small complement the other components that have been used for the network and harmonize well in this combination:
Between routers and patch panel this switch depends:
PSC = 1
And as punch down this worked here quite passable:
PSC = 1
In room side we have used this network outlets:
PSC = 1
And the installation cable this was here:
