The sound of Playbar is very good! In particular, music is great fun with it. When I watch TV, then I look at any Dolby Surround films and therefore the issue of "missing DTS" uninteresting to me. Also I have no expectation that the Playbar real 3.0 sound supplies (right channel, left channel and a center speaker). For me the complete Playbar is a center speaker, and this makes his job very well!
In particular, in my "use case" (crime scene and Tagesschau) but one must pledge of Playbar no "miracle". If the language already bad by the transmitter is (bad abgemischter scene), then you can not conjure up a Playbar.
I'll be back on the music back: if you want to fill a small to medium room so, then the Playbar sufficient and good! Although an additional Sub brings "oomph" but the one does not need and this is the "normal" TV (see above) rather disturbing, see also my other review for Sub.
Summary: The Playbar sounds alone very well, but if you like to listen to loud music (party) or very large spaces sonicated then we recommend the additional sub.
I would buy the Playbar again: on the one hand the other hand, with which you can replace a stereo system almost because of the good sound, because of the comfortable operating concept.
