Looking for a sufficiently stable, this compact, lightweight travel tripod I am on the Rollei Compact Traveler No. I encountered. To use it is since about three weeks, especially for simple time-lapse (without swinging), shots during the blue hour and astrophotography. My camera (Nikon D5200 with AF-S 16-85 mm VRII together approximately 1.1 kg) carries it easily, even in light winds the construction is still safe. Pack size, weight and build quality are great, the screw caps are smooth and the rubber has enough grip even in cold weather. The ball head is kept simple and functional. Positive noticed is the hook at the foot of the central column, since it allows the mounting of ballast, thus contributing to a stabilization in stronger winds. A deduction of points there, because to change the viewing angle for panoramic photography the set screw on the ball head must be easily opened and thus the fixation of the camera is canceled. So you have to watch out a little, that the angle is not changed too much. In practice, I can live with it but good because better than a freehand panoramic image is all. A comparison with a Nodalpunktadapter I close here, aware as I am traveling on hikes with a light pack and accordingly also the photographic equipment is justifiable reduced.
My conclusion: as a travel tripod and shooting opportunity for the Compact I can Traveler No. I fully recommend.
