Great zoom, great effects, but unfortunately only mediocre pictures

Have tested in direct comparison to Panasonix FX45, because I could not decide between the two cameras me the SX30 IS. Both have qualified in extensive research than the current top super zoom. Conclusion: If you want maximum zoom, but the image color and flash illumination less focuses, is right when Canon. Who can find a 24-times zoom is sufficient, but puts sharper images and a color image corresponding to the original value, is better at the Pana tuned.
Have the extensively tested in many different situations, and has long been at fluctuate. Due to the more modern and sleeker design language, the Canon is already beautiful than the Pana, but slightly heavier and bulkier. Plus points of Pana: More Program Options in the selectable via rotary knob motif functions (Portrait, Sports, Landscape, Night - each with 4 sub-options). 14, 7, 2, or 0.3 MP - that's it: this, the resolution of the Canon is only effective in 4 settings. The Pana has here different formats, which are also available in the various settings (Auto, Program, Aperture / auto exposure) in different variety. 4: 3, 16: 9, 1: 1 format, and by 14, 7, 5, 2, 0.3 MP with 4: 3 and 12.5, 10, 7, 5 in 16: 9 format, and yet some more.
Due to the appealing menu designs and attractive design I was almost at the Canon, but then I have the pictures brought back to Pana. The Canon makes beautiful pictures, but just tend the wide angle end to the noise. If the zoom used (eg 100-200 mm BW), then makes beautiful pictures - one thinks at first. Compared to Pana but it is clear that this is because some anti-aliasing in the image means that it is shown soft. This has initially appealing, but the Leica lens of Pana brings here but more precision. In conjunction with the equipment described in other reviews compression software of Canon missing here but the final touch.
Both cameras are great when it comes to autofocus. With automatic multizone focus, which is indicated by several green frame, there is incredibly much recorded very quickly focused properly. That's considerably better than that of a compact camera. In addition, Canon is constantly going to put the focus really sharp, which supports the objectives considerably; the Pana responds only to keystroke. Another disadvantage of the Pana / benefit of SX30: The display is not only pivotable but also distinctly lighter, and especially better than the non-reflective of FX45. In the test patterns in the sunlight here, the decision to Canon had fallen (at the Pana you can see through the reflection itself rather than the subject), but then revised it in evaluating the images again.
Positive in the Canon: The stereo microphones are on the front, mounted at a distance of 3 cm. When Pana they are on top - this is the Canon for the video sound advantage. Why the Canon, is a really successful product design. This goes beyond the button design of many small function keys, the electrical on / off switch (at the Pana a slide switch) up to a total of pleasant-looking overall design. The strap fastenings are in the SX30 internally and so pleasant, the viewfinder is not out so far and has a pleasant and curved rubber. That has not been solved so chic in the FX45; that would be the next design update probably times a well invested effort for Panasonic, which have a total realized the technically better camera, both in the lens as well as in the electronics quality.
My conclusion: Will the really beautiful, chic and functional Canon return with a heavy heart, and I prefer to enjoy the beautiful pictures.
