great ZOOOOOMMM :-) Good image processing, fast-moving images in a row are possible.

The Sony DSC-HX400v I now have 6 months. DC in advance, a strong buy recommendation, with one exception, I will get the same.
Selling points:
-WiFi Just great if you want to transfer an image immediately on the Smarphone. It is fun!
-Zoom, 50x opt. Zoom makes the holiday fun. You never want to miss
-GPS
-Price, Not expensive for around 350 Euro.
-beeinruckende image quality

The Cam is great fun, the picture quality is impressive. I'm more of a layman as a photographer and am of the opinion, each of the starting and want to make some pictures of the family, playing sports such as soccer, etc. Children will be well served with this cam. The great push sweetens the holidays. Can everything and pulls no big hole in the treasury. A battery pack with two extra battery + external battery charger can be found online for less than 20 euros. TOP
The Sony can also be operated with the smartphone. So you can shoot and everyone is in the picture.

Two stars deductions there yet for the slow image processing. I do not know what Sony is done there or if it is not noticed. After a trigger you have to wait 2-3 seconds until another image can be shot. That's a No. Especially when I (mind you kids soccer) zugucke football and want to create a lot of pictures in succession annoys the extreme and spoils the impression.
Another reason for deductions, once it becomes a little darker, the image quality suffers greatly.

All in all a very good cam for non-professional and non-amateur photographer.

30.12.2014 Thanks to W. Engel for the answer. Have 2 seconds Image preview off, now de Cam is pleasantly fast. So 5 stars from me for price / performance and 12 stars for the Zoom :-)
