Guide a lover of the history of Paris

Lorant Deutsch's book is a very pleasant surprise. His "History of Paris and France" is certainly very "mainstream", but it is particularly enjoyable to read and - above all - it exudes passion and love of the author for his subject.

With a chapter a great period in the history of the capital, Lorant Deutsch makes us discover hidden treasures, forgotten legends or anecdotes. His book is both a tour guide and a sort of compendium of traditions.

It would be wrong to see a partisan reading of the history of France, Lorant Deutsch making only put things in context, such as the Paris of considering the various periods and lived. Just read simply, with sympathy for all our Parisian ancestors.
