This "good old" plug adapter goes back to the time when it was considered at eQ-3 is a good idea to build the HomeMatic housing in the form of the logo (or vice versa?). The resultant chunky shape encounters naturally acidic and is the only reason for the star trigger my review - otherwise it does not care; the actuator can probably be described as the flagship workhorse of the HomeMatic system: does exactly what it should, always and reliably (at least equivalent to that both my own experience and obviously that of all other reviewers), and is by ADAPtER design so universal that probably makes do not HM-conditioning without him. If all components of the system as free of errors, half of research could save yourself when designing a ... A (in addition to the daily benefit) me particularly useful application is the actor in the refurbishment / expansion of facilities for determining the wireless range and optimal positioning CCU (or the possible need for repeaters) to use. Using an extension cord, the removal of the CCU can be doing "continuously" vary and so quasi determine the range meter accuracy. Nevertheless: Before buying this actor, you should think carefully about whether you do not want to spend a bit more money for the "competitive model". There are indeed in the HomeMatic system even the (newer) model with built-in power measurement (and transmission). What looks at first glance like an "Eco Sensor Statistical fanatics", is very useful in practice, because the information about the current fuel consumption can be to switch master / slave functions, the standby switch off and, of course, for statistical recording use. Since this plug adapter costs only about 5-10 euros more than the reviewed model here and all reportedly is just as reliable, like his acquisition be more meaningful, even if you currently still provided no specific purpose for it. We can only hope that eQ-3 wins sometime to grab this actuator in a similar compact housing as the much smaller plug with power measurement - just please just reliable inner workings as before.
