Below I try to put into words what makes the album for me as great.
Wilson shows up here again again in a fresh gown, without losing its distinctive handwriting. Man standing in front of a wide range of different styles, although a coherent body of work has at the end but belongs solely due Wilson the largest respect. As a small example: Perfect Life is a beautiful, mostly supported by electronic beats, quiet piece. Ancestral hand, is a 13-minute prog epic that unfolds a dramatic and oppressive atmosphere and in its second part the Härtegrat attracts huge.
The musicians are full again before great enthusiasm. Many current productions seem very clinical and cold downplayed. Not so here: You can hear the music in every note that its producers have great fun with music.
Above all, the album were written just great. The mix of various musical genres I mentioned, but here I think the songwriting regardless of the style. The album is full of great, rousing and catchy melodies, atmospherically dense Parts and creative ideas. Playing with fresh elements (eg. The use of a boys choir special mention here the goosebumps-generating falsetto solo in routine) complements wonderfully the Wilson-typical touch that is consistently seen in the positive sense of course.
It turns easily again that Wilson is one of the most talented songwriters of the present day. As at the end with Ascendant Here On rang the musical theme of Perfect Life, presented by the Boys Choir, I had tears in his eyes and succumbed entirely to the beauty of this moment. This may sound corny, but I'm sure it was not just me.
Thematically hand. Can not. Erase. heavy diet: Wilson represents the case of Joyce Vincent, who was found dead in her apartment in 2006, was to all appearances but already died three years earlier. A very bitter case of food for thought. What happens to those people who can not do anything with all the social networks? We talk about short text messages, the partners we are looking for in apps you're almost always connected, but never really together. We think we know each other, but often we only know a profile that can be changed and adjusted as often.
The theme has a lot of room for interpretation and will probably interpreted differently by each a little and that's what makes it so awesome in my eyes, because it is thought-provoking.
In summary, in a nutshell: It is the expected (by me) masterpiece. The album is coherent in itself, there is in my view no failure and I had the greatest fun listening. Ultimately remains music always a matter of taste, but who liked Wilson's music before and is not equal to shouting his hands together above his head strikes if times a song is kept consistently simple, can make here basically nothing wrong.
