The Vornado Zippi fell upon me, because he is not quite as ugly and bulky like other desktop fans. Since it lacks the safety cage, he stands no equal in the eye. The design is pleasing, even the smaller of the two rotor speeds generates a pleasant and cooling airflow - but the leaves are not shaken up on the desk. The sound is pleasant, there is only a faint buzzing (by the rotor blades - the motor operates silently) heard. The build quality is solid - the fan feels dibasic. A very tiny shortcoming are the rubber feet that leave on bright tabletops dark tracks but can be wiped off without residue. A total of Vornado Zippi is an absolute buy recommendation, the original 30 was already worth and marketplace for half the price at Amazon dealers is an absolute bargain.
