What is important: (all points listed here, the Panasonic)
Device inaudible standby (even with active timer programs).
Unit in operation: DVD drive only up close perceptible even quieter television sound drowned out the drive noise. Fan and HDD (Hard Disc) only from very close (ear for device) perceptible.
When switching on: device is initialized (check a DVD in the drive, etc ...?) Until the image on the TV in 7.4 seconds - which is absolutely fast (eg my "nightmare" DVD from Samsung: almost one minute ... in time No picture on TV)
Manual: own in German, with correct spelling and understandable. The manual is, however, little need, because the
Menu navigation is very logical and confusing.
The (Screen) menus are clearly structured logical in the sequence and intuitively. The presentation could contemporarily be (the menus have the charm of Linux windows (they are indeed)) - but I'd rather do without transparent, optically drilled window (like Samsung) - important thing is that what you type and programmed works. And it does convincingly at Panasonic. No ifs and buts ".
1. Getting started: Clock automatically (also summer-winter time), very quick to sort tuning with playful simple way, the channels found after pers preference.!
Functionality of the software: everything here corresponds to what the user is desired, the "usability" is 1A. An example: You want to watch a DVD or a movie on the HDD while recording? No Problem. You turn the power on while a timer program waits for the start: the timer program is yet to start correctly, you will not miss a shot.
If you do things that could disturb the course of a pre-programmed Timerers (eg: load a DVD disc format and movies from HDD to DVD dubbing) so you will be informed via a display that these processes would prevent the timer start. Then you can still cancel in time.
Recording quality: ansolut correctly in the SP mode (normal mode), one sees no difference between television and the live image recording.
Enclosed: on my (100Hz Grundig tube and therefore a far superior LCD) television the TV picture is not as beautiful as on the AV channel views the image from Panasonic ... so an improvement in reception quality ...
A big plus is the possibility recorded on HDD movies that fit into the size of not more comprehensive a 7.4Gbyte DVD, as "shrink" to leave during dubbing, they just but just fit on the DVD (with a slight, barely perceptible loss in quality - but a lot better than if you look at even before a shot for HDD_Platz-friendly "LP" - had decided mode, which (not even notice when watching even small artifacts and mini-Mosaikchen can be seen which other, but I see such a thing).
Of course (!) You have but from the start in the choice of recording method (and thus the type of compression strength), the freedom to say that one chooses the highest recording quality (hence the space-fressendste) and when dubbing to DVD Choose then a "double-layer" - DVD medium (50 pcs to 12.99, -. EUR saw on the internet ...)
When you play you then when switching layers a tiny sound & picture hanger (but not necessarily)!
Cut: movies recorded (HDD) can be easily from advertising, as well as pre- and free credits and cut IMAGE EXACTLY, without reading the manual. The super fast forward can be the way to no excuse that DEA would cost cutting time. I take my children currently "Santa Claus & Co KG" on what is being sent in a double via Super RTL, with advertising between the parts. Cutting away the advantages and Abspannes, taking out the advertising and SHARE (!) Recording in 2 parts takes about 3 minutes without any stress ... (to disassemble the film is not in 2 parts would later mean that my daughters the piece as a whole = consumed 44 Minutes, but it may be good to take a break ...)
Remote control: is very good in the hand, pleasant, large buttons and an ingenious addition, "part" a "Portions" of the remote control of the TV (you have only the appropriate manufacturer - refer code from the manual and the remote report): one can high / low, and channel on / off, so the most important functions with a remote control with-operate, which is extremely pleasant (and makes the purchase of an all-in-one remote control superfluous).
In addition to that the remote has a transmission power, which enables "sloppy" to target: both DVD recorder and TV react correctly. I know that too completely different!
Schedule recordings: super simple and very clear!
You can even disable Timer programs - without deleting them (!)
Who needs that? For example, because a (recurring) broadcast eg due to a sporting event fails. But one could from another transmitter take a alternativn film. If you now set another timer at the same time without deactivating the existing program, there would be a conflict. But not because you "turn off" the program a timer. (This saves you the reprogramming at a later date) Reprogramming but would even be fun, the device has yet to "Guide-plus", which you can activate by pressing a button: accessible via satellite or cable to 99%, provides a super current Program Preview, navigate by cursor on the movie of your choice, press "ok" and already is the movie in the timer. On the Guide - Page, you watch the timer icon in the programmed films. "Even 'my daughters (11 and 13) to control the presentation of 1 x.
Of course, one also has the classic show-View for timer programming available, the VPS - receiver module is working properly (if the transmitter is not patzt)
Copying movies on DVD to HDD (if not copy protected) goes perfectly, reversed course just as with creating a DVD menu.
Bobbling of material via USB (flash drive or cable) without any problems.
Copying material from an external source (for example, I have a VCR connected to AV2) - simple and impeccable quality.
Those who want to watch videos without many remote controls to take into their own hands: the video signal is lossless (I know that even very different) looped through the DVD recorder and comes in usual quality for TV.
Finally, let me say that I have sure some forget to mention here, but since I am not a professional "Test Reported", please be forgiven me, and you also may see me one and other typos!
In summary: a great, low-cost device with a sufficiently large hard drive and convincingly simple operation. No more fear of missing movies, if you forgot the program guide to buy, thanks to "Guide-plus" on Friday.
The recordings on DVD easily to third-party devices (I tested).
The unit is super quiet and can POWER SAVE (then needs a little bit longer when you turn).
1080p, HDMI, of course.
Ah, almost forgot but important: Of course, the machine where you have stopped and switched off while watching a DVD noted, you can watch the next day there. (Except you switch between the DVD from the drive!) Films of hard disk: no problem - select a button any point, you can start it later as a chapter ...
If you have questions, which I will gladly answer can contact me: "Aurel (at) aon.at".
I recommend the unit with a clear conscience !!
PS: because many, I was interested, I would like contact can incorporate important questions at this point, I forgot to talk about:
DL-DVD (Double Layer) - recordings: no problem, works flawlessly!
Video editing on the device: in fact (who wants to do it as accurately) screen exactly! (The soundtrack is exactly "taken", which is not, of course !!)
TIME SHIFT: yes, namely by "1" -Knopfdruck on the remote control without complicated setting. Play (and again "stop") as easily as if you were a VHS - recorder start / stop, pause ...
AND: (very important !!) to find the keys speed by pressing a good size, even in the darkened living room immediately!
COPY: USB -> HDD: yes (DivX format) HDD -> USB: NO (here you have to in order to rework, for example on the PC can go via a rewritable DVD and Na.?)
I still recommend the device necessarily!
