This novel could have told the story of a little banal boy who goes to college for the first time, which made new friends (and simultaneously, enemies), with a loving and caring family around him ... Yes but now, August (more familiarly called Auggie), is not a little boy like the others. Auggie was born with facial deformities very important that distorts his entire face. How this little boy of only 10 years he could face the ridicule of his young age and the gaze of passers supported on the street?
I was stunned and shocked to discover both the morphology of Auggie. His deformity is clearly described, but impossible for me to represent me in real life, on the face of a human being. As he himself says in the book "What you imagine is probably worse" ... It must be said, that little phrase causes chills. Even if the performance was not completely realistic in my mind, the pain and sorrow felt by strong Auggit about the eyes of others touched me.
I understood his terror, that he has contempt for passersby, who watch as if they had mercy on him. Be ogled all day long as a monster, a freak, not to be easygoing. Moreover, Auggie is young, very young, and it's almost all alone in feeling this horrible suffering. Some passages of the novel still messed me than others, especially when her younger sister, Via, trying to keep him away from his new life of high school ... it is clear at this point that it is ashamed of his brother ... but yet, what she loves!
Sidelined by all, rejected his difference, it will try to ignore and fight for what he really is. A battle he will face every day, and he is sure to never be fully recovered. The difference is a chance, and Auggie has proven to us.
With infinite delicacy, RJ Palacio reveals gentle adventures and events of the sad life of Auggie.
One of the major positive points, which I enjoyed, was in different parts of the novel, which are cut according to the figures. Each party, we discover a new character in the story, and we also can follow him, discover his opinion on the main plot, so the story of Auggie. A very good idea, which charmed me.
But there's not just that which charmed me. This novel has managed to move me. I sympathize with the pain of Auggie, fears of parents, friends of support, at the mercy of people ... Even if the world will not change anytime soon, this book is a renewed optimism, and Meanwhile, a weight accuser against all.
The author shows us how our selfishness and curiosity can cause harm to others. Solidarity is one of the best qualities that can exist on Earth. Unfortunately, she is scarce over the years ...
In conclusion, I would say that I would not be surprised to find one day that book into a film. It is so moving, original and unusual, that every time he would cry all the people who go to see it.
