I have read me several weeks by various test and advice of remote controls from different manufacturers. For good closing level on the question of Harmony 700 or Harmony One? I have decided after a long struggle for the 700. But saying the following reasons:
- One of the missing color buttons, which are essential for the operation of some equipment. Surely you can see the program on the screen, but
then you always have to jump between these touchscreen pages back and forth.
- The One has no buttons but only a Activities Activities button, which calls the individual activities on the touch screen. So here is a
Between steps required until the activity is executed. For me, a point of convenience and precisely because of this I have the remote control
Yes granted.
- The One has a built-in battery pack, which needs to be replaced with a defective expensive. To go, is an extra charger necessary, which in
me just standing around in the way. If the battery is empty, you have no way of fully charged batteries simply insert. The larger touch screen needed
more energy, ie the battery is quickly empty.
- The One looks with its black piano finish from zwr noble, but you can also see every single fingerprint
- The One is more expensive than the 700 at approximately the same range of functions bit 40
The Harmony 700 has the same keys (and even more -> Activities- and display scroll keys) as the one with the same arrangement. While the 700 can only control 6 devices, but for me, this is my far 4 devices sufficient. I bought the 700 and no smaller model, since I have so another 2 units in reserve, if I buy something else to do so.
I have the remote control for 2 weeks in almost daily use and have been very happy with it. I can control all the required functions. Most of the commands can I control with the keys, special commands or less genutze can be called up via the display. However, I no longer use many keys as the Activity function decreases a half of work. I turn on my socket and press "watch TV". My AV receiver turns on and switches from the radio program to the TV input. My TV starts and changes the TV program for HDMI input and my cable Germany Receiver starts. All with just one touch. I then watched my movie night, want to make myself ready for bed and still listen to some music, I press the Activity button "Listening to Radio". TV and receiver go out, AV receiver will switch to Radiopgrogramm. So I want to have! The programming, which device is now to make what is a self-left free.
The initial setup of the remote control is really fast by equip. You have to install the appropriate Logitech software to your PC and connect its remote control via USB. Then you choose from a menu which devices you own and want to control. If time does not exist a device, you can also commands from the original remote learning via infrared. The initial setup takes about 30 minutes. Then you can get started right away and control everything. What was criticized here at some Rezesionen, is something that I find very good. It is written that one to adjust the remote control 2 weeks and takes longer. That's right, I am now after 14 days still in the process. But the emphasis is on adapting! The fact that the remote control can be programmed very free (you can almost any key to assign to the Activity- and display navigation keys the function that you want to have there. The display is here in every way, you can perform the functions even labeled with plain text) , it is always there to refine its operation. "The Info button might be better to call this menu and on the display on page 2 I would have would rather this function is available ..." I see this as a disadvantage but not absolute but as an advantage because I can think of the Remote set up exactly as I need them.
Another positive point is the ergonomics. The remote fits comfortably in your hand, all the keys are with one hand within easy reach. Some "important" keys are lifted out in the molding, so that they will instantly blind or anhandt their position to navigate on the remote control.
The tilt sensor switches the display when the remote control wobbles a bit, so when picked up, for example. This feature can be disabled, however. Similarly, the Key and Input delay on the remote control can be adjusted so that the receiving device command also really understands. Many older devices get confused when commands are sent too quickly in succession. 2 channels rather than a program to switch up or down then for example skipped. This can be set on the remote control.
I would the Harmony 700 buy again and recommend it to my friends and acquaintances. Also, I have only heard good things about the customer service of Logitech. Issues are resolved as quickly as possible, unknown devices from the device list added.
