New publication on the photographic world of Helmut Newton is a temptation that it is difficult to resist. The book is not unpleasant to flick though its format would have benefited from greater. Reproductions of works are, for their part, pretty good but most of the pictures have already been widely published. Aficionados of all that "makes" the Newton myth, the morgue of its models, exhibitionism of his nudes, the subversiveness of his stagings, will probably be disappointed. In the end, this book is not representative of the work of Newton and does not tell us much new about him.
