I have this filter in my Dyson also ignored for 8 years. Now my pre-motor filter the temporal blessed, I decided also take a look at the HEPA filter to throw. I was horrified! The filter was greasy black and apparently demanded the engine quite a bit of power from. So I then decided to invest in an original Hepa filter. The suction power and also the smell of the exhaust air are again acceptable. As for lifetime durability, so the filter has indeed maintained a lifetime - a lifetime. I think a filter to prevent particles which remains subject to wear, even if the advertising suggests something else.
