Wexford has become old - and dull. The "whodunit" plot is about 4 corpses discovered in a vault - in the end we find out how They got there. On the way we are Confronted with a few problems of today's society. This plot is interwoven with a side plot about personal problems of Wexford's daughter. I have read a lot of books by Ruth Rendell and deeply enjoyed most of them. But here I read on Because I had started it - and all the while did photoshoped Somewhere along the way the story would gather momentum - but it Remained dull to the end.
