First, I've been working on music played via USB 2.0. Copying lasted half an hour and was quick and easy. After some time, I wanted them to listen to music, but the hard drive was not found in the file system (Windows 7 Pro 64bit). Well, the convenient on / off switch of the disk used to start it again.
At home, I then the music from the hard drive copied via USB 3.0 to your PC - perfect. Connecting several GigaByte series copied to the hard disk. The (fast) copying but broke off after about 20 minutes. I remembered another review here ... there was the problem already described (). The second copy process stopped after 2 minutes. Then the hard disk to USB 3.0 was no longer recognized. I secured the data then via USB 2.0 and sent the hard drive back directly, I will not risk a defect in a few months, is also reported here.
It's okay to be that the hard drive has a sleep mode. A slightly longer to wake up from external hard drives not bother me.
But:
The sleep mode should not disconnect the USB controller on the PC but only off the hard drive itself. The hard drive should be continued, available mounted in the file system.
Furthermore, the sleep mode should not make the whole, when data is written or read (occurs in both cases).
The product is thus unusable. Possibly the manufacturer can import a firmware update, which solves the problem. But I do not want to make constantly worried about my data just me.
