I have several cables of this series and was actually of the robustness and quality always satisfied. As an engineer, I look always like the solder joints at. From this it can be read out much. The plugs go easily (perhaps too easy) to unscrew. This Y-cable had an objectionable Soldering on. The signal wire was not at the soldering point been shortened and therefore had contact with the ground. This short circuit in principle a KO criterion. The problem I've finally solved itself. Tip: Always look at the solder joints before use, before you surprised that no signal arrives.
