Have a mSATA SSD with no garbage collection in it. Will probably be more and more slowly, because TRIM via USB now no time. Have a Windows 8.1 for an emergency plan with the most important tools when time does not boot a machine, or a virus has made its way into the system. Hardly any difference over USB 3.0 booting compared to the internal SSD to SATA port. Tip: If no mSATA lying around like me, then pay attention to a good garbage collection.
