Microorganisms bring the pond filter biology in transition while reducing nitrite, ammonium and ammonia. This is nothing new in itself. What is new is the tremendous high concentration of 1 billion microorganisms per g, corresponding to 50 billion in this product which are ready to start using the nutrient solution within 20 minutes! In comparison, the slightly cheaper product, but which comes only with 2 billion: Oase Aqua Activ starter bacteria Biokick 200 ml (I assume that the manufacturer's instructions are correct.)
A reasonable instructions is behind the peel-off label. The bacteria are in a removable box in the middle of the bottle and mixed with the nutrient solution. The manual describes, inter alia, must be switched off for what period the UVC clarifier.
The effect of starter bacteria is undisputed. I think this is money well spent for the filter start in the spring.
