I shoot about 99% arthropods (insects, spiders) and use a Canon PowerShot G12 with a Raynox DCR-250 close-up lens. Because the camera flash is too deep, raises the adapter with the lens very distracting shadows on the picture. Therefore, I still bought a flash and grabbed as digital for Metz 24 AF-1, which is already very much delivered better results. However, to me the light was often too hard, even though I was playing around with the flash intensity. So should now have a diffuser ago, and looking for one that fits well on the Metz, I stumbled upon this "sock". The overwhelmingly positive reviews left me access and I have to say the first test shots make my heart beat faster and make you want to the first major insect Tour this year: D
It was written here before desöfteren, but I repeat it like:
- The photos are much (much!) Thinned beautiful
- Shadows are soft
- The diffuser sits tight and does not slip around
- He also makes a very well-made impression
- It is easy and can be stowed away
- Thanks to the small dimensions it is not an obstacle in denser vegetation
Since arthropods sit still rare long I photograph now only freehand. Since each additional gram more weight is a burden. With the adapter, plus close-up lens and the extra flash came quite a bit of weight to the happier I am that the diffuser to add nothing as practical.
I recommend to anyone who is even now and again flashes instructed recommend this highly enough diffuser: D
