Highly recommended for its own photo lab ...

I have gained this scanner for my own photo lab 10 July 2012. I paid for 430.98 without SilverFast, but with Adobe Photoshop Elemets 9. The unit gave me a robust impression. The included scanning software of Reflecta is not usable. Thus I switched to Rick Hamm of VueScan software. This scanning program is a lot cheaper than SilverFast and makes a very good impression. The scanner must work really hard with me and if you know your little quirks, it runs fine. With vaulted negatives he hangs happy times during transport to 2. image. I always cut 5er strip and let then one more night in Parchment archiver, wedged in a thick book.

Reflecta are regular firmware updates. This is the control program in the scanner. This can be written into the flash memory after downloading with CyberViewX. Currently, the version 1.21 is from 12.04.2013 (the scanner never pull the USB hub !! Always operate directly on the computer-USB)

The quality of the scans with VueScan is very good. At 3600 dpi loose 16MP in it. Since I could see no further increase in quality 7200 dpi, I stayed at the 3600dpi. The dust and scratch removal works fine with me. Unfortunately I can not upload here sample scan.

For the price, I find the service ok. If the box now holds a few more years so everything is ok !!
Reflecta customer service I could not test.
