*** Installation ***
The holder is simply attached to the Spigot Studio Stand and fixed using a knurled screw. After that screen and compact flash are mounted. The shield is pushed into a suitable sleeve (a sheet serving as a counter-pressure for the screen in the sleeve) and using another thumbscrew locked.
The flash is pushed onto a metallic rail and also fixed by a screw.
*** Fitment and operation ***
The tilt and orientation can be quite easy to change - screw on - turn - screw again.
Since the mount much plastic is installed sits much not as strong as I would like it (finally we find the mount yes under the blanket again and to my more expensive compact flash and hold). The screws can not be so tighten all really stuck because it is "plastic screws", which is why they probably should not over-tighten.
Something I was uncomfortable with the fact that the hot shoe attachment is made of metal and therefore in principle the flash can be short-circuited via the hotshoe. For safety, I have simply pushed a piece of cardboard between the flash and support in order to avoid unwanted effects. Since I usually trigger a radio receiver for wirelessly between bracket and flash've already is with me but rarely a problem.
*** Conclusion ***
The Walimex Holder has basically exactly what it promises - namely one that suits Studio Stands holder for screen and compact flash. However, the restrictions in relation to the more expensive adapters you should be aware:
Con:
* A little shaky by plastic threads / bolts
* Metallic flash holder may lead to short circuits
Pro:
* Cheap price
For frequent users and professionals I would recommend the part under any circumstances. For my purpose - namely occasional studio photograph the part fits perfectly.
