I've been looking for a way my Etrex 30 while hiking and much more firmly attached when sailing. The carbine is close it is robust and so big that you can use larger lines to einpicken. The snap lock the carabiner is however so strong that it can be difficult to dismantle again. On the one hand well, due to the secure attachment, on the other annoying as you can not open the battery compartment with attached carabiner. The removal of the holder is so stiff in my Etrex 30 because he stuck to the battery cover. Removing works, but only with much effort and after several attempts. For that I subtract 2 points. I would buy me the carbine a second time, a robust lanyard does probably just as well.
