"The Skeleton Key" is not a shocker, and at no point really nerve-wracking, so for most horror fans an easily digestible evening entertainment. In my opinion, it is a solid, entertaining film with good occupation and not necessarily predictable end (whose title was translated into German funny !?). From the audience it requires a certain accessibility concerning magical rituals; Who is this open and curses, soul walks, etc. at least might think for the time of the film, is not big shudder and perhaps even something to learn (eg Voodoo Hoodoo is not!). I personally found the movie interesting because we saw quite a lot of the South and the swampy area around New Orleans, I would not recognize! However, I would have another ('nicer') desired end; pity that there is no second part!
