Here the crucial steps to successfully activated under Microsoft Windows (times not in French):
Update Firmware for the adapter (NEC / Renesas) (currently 3.0.2.7.0.8) - - of the French neighbors station-drivers.com
- Separate 3.0 devices before updating all USB
- The latest driver (currently 2.0.34.1) Intel install (USB3_allOS_2.0.34.1_PV.exe)
- The call with installed mini-applets:
- Programs -> Renesas Electronics -> USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver -> USB 3.0 Host Controller Utility
- Check mark for "Disable the USB 3.0 power management functions"
In my view, the malfunction (see - separate - recognize - separate ...) nothing to do with the quality of the USB 3.0 interface card, but the fact that older mainboards (to 2008) only meet the PCI Express 1 standard and therefore some functions ( obviously, the dynamic power modes) do not support.
Data throughput up to my expectations, the course is not based on theoretical values for PCI Express, without regard to the other components (here Fantec FB-35U3 with Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB):
- Smaller files (Apple Lossless, AAC, MP3): approximately 38 - 45 MB / s
- Large files (eg 2 video streams at approx 10 GB): 74.7 MB / s
The value of large files is close to the write rate for internal hard drives!
