The software ran smoothly for me. I found the configuration stringent and could set up everything very easy. However, the device is only capable of basic functionalities. The WLAN can not off by a timer and will shut down. The USB port does not support mobile sticks and the number of DynDNS providers is very limited. The integration of VOIP I think already needed for almost mandatory and I miss.
The missing features could be partially retrofitted by the OpenWRT open source project. This is advertised prepared by the term open source. However, these are just a promise for the future. Officially, the router is not yet supported by OpenWRT project. On GitHub [...] a first port can be found on the router. How well this works, I can not say. I would wait until the completion and integration into the OpenWRT project.
The powerful hardware consumes quite a lot of electricity. My Fritz box consumes about the hälft, has a significant better software features and VOIP support. But the hardware is not quite as fast.
Long story short. The hardware is very good and the software still has to grow with the customer. Who needs a fast device and the basic software is sufficient, which should access.
